The small town of Amesbury is steeped in culture and history, set in beautiful rural Wiltshire countryside on the banks of the River Avon and is home to one of the world’s finest Heritage Sites, Stonehenge.

The town is surrounded by ancient landscape and was founded in 979 AD when the original Abbey was established.

The town offers free parking, accommodation, places to eat and drink, and a selection of other services such a pharmacies, banking and retailers to name but a few.

The Great Bustard Group (GBG) www.greatbustard.com
The Great Bustard is a magnificent bird that until 1832 was native to the British Isles and was particularly prominent on the Salisbury Plain. The male Bustard is possibly the heaviest extant bird capable of flight. The first wild Great Bustard chicks in the UK for 177 years were born in May 2009!
