Important Town Centre Meeting – The Future of Amesbury

This concerns you and your business!

Stonehenge Chamber of Trade in conjunction with Amesbury Regeneration Partnership invite you to a meeting to discuss the future of Amesbury Town Centre on Thursday 12th April at 6.00pm at The George Hotel Function Room.

In recent months Action for Market Towns has been carrying out research into the day to day use of Amesbury on behalf of the Amesbury Regeneration Partnership.

The results of these surveys will be presented by Mike King from Action for Market Towns at the meeting.  Mayor Rhind-Tutt will also present his vision for the future of Amesbury for residents, businesses and tourists.

This is your chance to hear the results, to discuss the future of the town and to be updated on the work that the Amesbury Regeneration Partnership has been carrying out with the Co-op.

SPACES ARE LIMITED - Please confirm your attendance by emailing stonehengechamber@hotmail.com or calling 01980 624900

Amesbury Museum Mesolithic Exhibition – Easter Weekend

Amesbury Town Council, have completed the purchase of the Melor Hall in Amesbury (Opposite the Antrobus Arms) and will now move to the process of planning and building the Town its first ever Museum and interpretation centre, telling the Story of Amesbury and capturing a percentage of those millions of tourists that visit our Stonehenge, bolstering the local economy and mutually supporting the two existing museums of Salisbury and Devizes and Stonehenge.

The Council have applied for Charity status for the “Amesbury Museum and Heritage Trust” and hope to officially launch this for the Town at a Civic Service on Sunday 29th April, with the first AMHT fundraising initiative which is currently being planned and will create national media attention if it succeeds!

On the Easter weekend, the Council have agreed to use the hall for an exhibition highlighting the Mesolithic rich heritage that is being found. Mayor Rhind-Tutt is keen that we put on a bit of a “wow” experience for visitors and to put the attached poster at Stonehenge for tourists to see and perhaps come to the Town to take a look. He is also keen that the Town puts on a bit of a show over that weekend too and has eating, drinking and buying venues open and welcoming for visitors.
