Thomas James Barratt and his wife Wendy bought the shop ‘Framework’ in Salisbury Street, Amesbury in February and continue to run it as a family business.
Thomas is a qualified boatbuilder and published artist, whilst Wendy balances frame making with looking after their three young children. They are very happy to have acquired such a charming shop in the thriving historic town of Amesbury.
Established exactly twenty years ago, Framework specializes in box frames and has recently created box frames for some of Paul Cummins’ ceramic poppies as well as a variety of medals in collaboration with their medals expert, Andrew. Other challenges have included framing a selection of 6ft x 5ft silk canvas stretches, circular LP record mounts and a range of cross stitches and tapestries.
As members of the Fine Art Trade Guild, their bespoke service takes the time to find the most suitable mounts and frames from their vast selection, bringing out the best in customers’ work.
Framework also sells limited addition prints, fine art, antique prints and local artists’ paintings.
