Chinese Evening Raises £710 for Military Charities

The Stonehenge Chamber of Trade and 32 Regiment Royal Artillery held a charity Chinese Evening on Thursday, 7th March.

The event was held at CZ Happy Garden Restaurant in Amesbury and guests enjoyed a selection of dishes prepared by Peter Chan and his staff.

Tickets for the evening were sold out and it was attended by members of the 32 Regiment Royal Artillery, The Stonehenge Chamber of Trade and guests of both.  The Mayor of Amesbury, Cllr Jan Swindlehurst, also attended.

CZ Happy Garden donated £495 from the ticket sales for the evening and a raffle held during the evening raised a further £215 giving a grand total of £710.  This will be donated to The Army Benevolent Fund and The Royal Artillery Association.

Jim Johnston, Chairman of the Stonehenge Chamber of Trade said “The Armed forces and Amesbury have a long history together and it is nice to have an opportunity to give something back to charities supporting the men and women who work so hard for this country.  Events such as these are an ideal way for local businesses and armed forces personnel stationed locally to get to know each other.  We hope to continue to work with Lieutenant Colonel Palmer and his colleagues on other fund raising events in the future.”
