Sponsored Walk In Aid of Dog’s Trust & CLIC Sargent

Stonehenge Chamber of Trade is proud to announce it will be walking for two charities again this year.  Local charity The Dog’s Trust, Newton Toney, and national children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent’s Yummy Mummy Campaign will benefit from the proceeds of the sponsored walk.  Last year over £1,500 was raised and split between the two chosen charities.  The Chamber hopes to exceed this amount in 2010 and is opening the event to non-chamber members.

The 6 mile circular walk incorporates the beautiful Woodford Valley and is being held on Sunday, 1st August. Registration for the walk starts at 10am in Bonnymead Park, Amesbury.  There will also be other activities available throughout the day for supporters of the walkers, or those that just want a fun family day out.  Fun fair rides, a bouncy castle, craft stalls & refreshments will be providing the additional entertainment.  For further details or an application form (pre-registration is required to participate in the walk), download your application form from here Sponsored walk terms and conditions 2010  Sponsored walk poster 2010 Final or call Zaina Pearce on 01980 622030.

Volunteers Required To Assist With Charity Walk

The Chamber are organising a sponsored walk for charity in conjunction with a fun day to be held at Amesbury Recreation Ground on Sunday, 1 August.  The event starts at 10am and will continue throughout the day.  Marshalls are required to cover various points along the walk as well as people to staff the registration desk for the walkers.  If you would be interested in assistance please email secretary@stonehengechamber.co.uk or call Zaina on 01980 622030 .  The walk will be open to non-Chamber members so we anticipate higher numbers than last year.  We look forward to hearing from you.  The chosen charities are Dog’s Trust and CLIC Sargent.  Further details will be posted in due course.

General Meeting, 16 June, 5.30pm at The George

Following a meeting of Amesbury Area Board last night, the Chamber Committee felt it was important to have another General Meeting prior to a final planning decision being made by Wiltshire Council on 1 July regarding the Tesco planning applications.

The meeting will start 5.30pm promptly and will concentrate purely on discussion about the Tesco planning applications plus the proposed rejuvenation of the Amesbury market.  Local councillors will be in attendance to participate in the discussion so please try and find the time to attend.  The meeting will be finished by 7pm as the function room is required by others at that time.  Tea, coffee  & biscuits will be available.  Please email apologies to secretary@stonehengechamber.co.uk.
