The Chamber raises money for local charities

The Stonehenge Chamber of Trade, the Amesbury business-networking club, raised a total of £1,600 for two local charities in July, by holding a sponsored walk from Amesbury through the stunning Woodford Valley to the Black Horse, Little Durnford and back.

Chairman, Helen White said “we had hoped to raise several hundred pounds with the events proceeds being evenly split between the District Hospital’s Stars Appeal and the Dogs Trust at Newton Toney; we were delighted to raise £800 for each Charity”.

Last month, members of the Stonehenge Chamber of Trade presented the cheques to the Stars Appeal and the Dogs Trust.

Committee member, Alexandra Spencer, commented, “The chamber members are always keen to the support local charities. People have been very generous and we would like to thank those who participated in the walk, the marshals, the event organizers and of course the sponsors.”

Hog Feast at Antrobus House

Last month, over 100 members and guests enjoyed the Stonehenge Chamber’s Hog Feast, which took place in the grounds of Antrobus House. There was an abundant supply of entertainment including a quiz and outdoor games, including giant connect four and jenga, swing tennis, and target golf.

In addition, there was a raffle with some lovely prizes; members were very generous with their donations and the Chamber of Trade would like to personally thank the following companies for their support:

Azalea Interiors, Café Mondo, Headquarters Hair, J P Todd, Jordans Residential Ltd, Miles of Value, Bliss Mobile Beauty Therapist, One Brown Cow, PA 4 a Day, Sprint Services, The George Hotel, The Old George Mall, Salisbury, The Salisbury Journal, The Stonehenge Trader, Vernon Marshal, Wild Cardz and Zaina’s Hair Salon.

Jim Johnston, Committee Member, said “The Chamber of Trade was delighted with the turnout for the event and we hope our guests had a fun evening. We received positive feedback and hope to organise something with a slightly different twist for next summer”.
